Departments and their respective Responsibilities:

Kumbo Council continues the chain of impressive, revolutionary, and functional Administrative initiatives. It combines incredible capacity building Trainings with refined professional mentoring to achieve its maximum potential.

  • General Secretariat:
    Keeps records of official document, receives incoming mails, and dispatches outgoing mails. It is considered as the heart of the council. The general secretariat which is considered as the heart of the council is well staffed to handle its affairs. It is headed by the Secretary General who is in charge of Personnel Management, Financial control and Administrative support.
  • Municipal Treasury:
    Headed by the Municipal Treasurer who is the chief accountant of the Council. He pays all council expenses and he is the custodian of Council Finances.
  • Stores Accounting:
    Headed by the Stores Accountant who is in charge of administrative support, financial control and technical supervision.
  • Finance Department:
    With the Finance Officer as the head, charged with the preparation of payment vouchers, issues out revenue collection orders to collectors, enters revenue and expenditure daily registers, and prepare management accounts yearly.
  • Civil Status Office:
    Headed by the civil status secretary who is charged with the establishment of birth, marriage and death certificates and cross checks civil status registration certificates before legalization.
  • Town Planning:
    Studies building permit files and recommends to the mayor for approval or rejection. Studies applications for temporal authorisations and makes recommendations. Makes studies as well as supervise council projects. Carries out control of construction works in the town.
  • Civil Engineering:
    Carries out infrastructural development, maintenance, and sustainability.
  • Transport Office:
    With a Module Position count of 26, as well as support for many more using the new tabbed module functionality, you will be able create a wide variety of layout options and methods for presenting your site's content.
  • Communication Office:
    Produces publications on the developments within the Kumbo Municipality by the Kumbo Council, in charge of protocol and public relations matters, constantly sensitizes and educates the public using various communication tools like the magazine (Focus on Kumbo), websites, face book and relating with other media.
  • Taxation Office:
    Collects revenue from vehicles and motor taxis. Reinforces all revenue collection within the council area. Takes care of hygiene and sanitation within the council.
  • Development Office:
    Headed by the Council Development Officer who has as duties to seek finances for council projects, conceives and elaborates projects on economic development, and follows up closely the implementation and update of the Council Development plan.
  • Private Secretariat:
    Headed by the Private Secretary whose main duties are to answer to phone calls, photocopy documents, type and print documents and directs people to the Mayor’s Office.
